Section Designer is intended for purposes of building any types of compound cross-sections out of steel rolled profiles and plates, and calculating their geometry properties necessary for structural analysis.
For the cross-section being designed the following properties are determined:
- cross-section area А;
- values of inertia momentum Iy and Iz around central axes parallel to the coordinate axes of the right Cartesian coordinate system Y and Z;
- inertia radii iy and iz around the same axes;
- inertia momentum for free torsion It;
- the centroid coordinates;
- values of the principal central inertia axes slope angle (the angle a between the axes U and Y);
- maximum Iu and minimum Iv inertia momentum;
- maximum iu and minimum iv inertia radii;
- maximum Wu and minimum Wu- section moduli along the axis U;
- maximum Wv and minimum Wv- section moduli along the axis V;
- core distance along the positive аu and negative аu- direction of the axis U;
- core distance along the positive Wv and negative Wv- direction of the axis V;
